City of Salem special council election

Cities that reside within Polk County's borders include a portion of the City of Salem..

For the May 2025 election, there is only one election, that to fill a vacancy in Ward 6 of the City of Salem. While Ward 6 is in Marion County's NE area, all Salem voters vote for all candidates, so Polk voters, including Polk Salem residents in NW Salem will see it on the May ballot and have a vote.

Half the boards are up for election in each city next in November 3, 2026. Filing for a city office must be done by August 23, 2026 to the City's Election Clerk of the given city (70 days before election date).
